Opportunities in the Communities

Horta-Comunitaria

The new global company Artemyn, a leading minerals transformation company for industry solutions, has made efforts to understand and meet the needs of communities surrounding its operations in Ipixuna do Pará, State of Pará, Brazil. Seven communities in Ipixuna do Pará are benefiting from support for the maintenance of vegetable gardens that promote environmental education and nutritionally enhance school meals: Fé em Deus, Deus por Nós, Aparecida, Bacuri, Cajueiro, Canaã, and Fortaleza.

“The goal is to provide information so that neighboring communities can seek to invest in new businesses, boosting the local economy and supporting the development of the community itself” emphasizes the company’s Environmental and Socioeconomic Manager, Karina Venuto.

Another social project that stands out is the poultry farming project, which has been running for 10 years and is maintained by women from the Cajueiro community, also in Ipixuna do Pará. Recently, Artemyn invested in improvements to the community's poultry farm, which directly contributes to local subsistence and also generates income.

The company also invested in techniques to diversify the poultry farm, introducing a laying system for selling free-range eggs, further expanding economic opportunities for the community.
